HELP US OUT
Support the Southwest Metro Lending Library in various ways! Our library depends on contributions from community members like you to provide items, tools, and resources. How can you contribute?
Make a Difference Fund
Empowering individuals and organizations with essential tools: People rely on tools to maintain comfortable, functional, and safe homes. Meanwhile, organizations need items and tools for community workdays, facility upkeep, and mission-driven activities. The Make a Difference Fund ensures that these vital resources reach the hands of those who need them most.
Donate Items & Tools
Donate Items And Tools in Good Working Condition
Ready to declutter your garage? We’re here to assist! Fun fact: Donated tools constitute about 50% of our inventory. When you contribute items that are gathering dust at home or in your garage, you not only share them with neighbors and beyond but also gain access to borrow them when needed. As a 501©(3) nonprofit, your donations are tax-deductible.
If you have items to donate, please contact our Inventory Coordinator, Daniel, at southwestmetrolendinglibrary@gmail.com. Provide a description and, if possible, include pictures. Keep in mind that not all items can be accepted, so it’s essential to check with our team before loading up your truck.

Volunteer
Did you know that the Southwest Metro Lending Library is 99% volunteer-run? We are currently looking for more wonderful people to join our team!
Volunteers are needed to cover shifts on Saturdays from 10 AM to 2 PM, Tuesdays from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, and Wednesdays from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
Shifts are about 2-3 hours long, and there is always another volunteer to help make the time fly by quickly. Many of our volunteers sign up for one shift a month, which helps share the work and keep the tool library open.
You do not need any prior knowledge about tools, only a willingness to help out. Who knows, you may just learn a few things about home repair yourself! It is also a great way to meet neighbors and connect with the community. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to volunteer without parental supervision.
We also have Fix-It Fridays at the library a few times a month. It’s a great way to learn how to repair items and help in the never-ending job of keeping our inventory functional.
