Member Agreement FAQs

Membership Requirements
  • Valid ID & Card: A valid ID and credit card must be kept on file.
  • Age Requirement: Members must be over 18 years old.
  • Authorized Users: Only those authorized on your account can check out items. Anyone can return them.
  • Holds & Reservations: If an item is unavailable, we can place you on a holds list and notify you when it becomes available. Items are on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be reserved.
  • Bits, Blades, & Abrasives: These may be included with your items, but availability is not guaranteed. They can be purchased from us or elsewhere.
  • Renewals: Most items can be renewed once for an additional week, except for high-demand items.
  • Item Issues: If an item is damaged, missing parts, or not functioning properly, please return it for a replacement.
  • Cleanliness: Ensure items are clean and tidy upon return. Remove debris from lawn tools, empty shop-vac/saw dust bags, and wrap cords.
  • Late Fees: Late fees are charged per item per day: $1.00/day for items and power tools, $2.00/day for high-demand tools. If an item is 60 days late, you have one week to return or replace it, or your membership will be revoked. You are responsible for the full replacement cost of severely delinquent or misused items. The SouthWest Metro Lending Library reserves the right to take appropriate steps to retrieve delinquent items or unpaid fees, including charging your credit card, using a collection agency, and/or legal action.
